LAMINA-DURA
The lamina dura is a thin, dense, radio-opaque line of cortical bone that lines the normal tooth socket, appearing continuous with the cortical layer of the alveolar crest on radiographs. Formed by bundle bone where periodontal ligament (PDL) fibers attach, its continuity is a vital radiological indicator of periodontal and endodontic health.
